Last article show how I hate Ubuntu 9.10. Still willing to give another look at the "improved" version of Ubuntu, I try to upgrade it to 10.4, latest version available today. As a user, I expect the upgrade goes smoothly. I hope there only a couple of glitch which unfortunately should be expected to happen.

Updating the apt source allow upgrading. I don't want to bother with README because the webpage do not show any warning. The upgrade process run, asking a couple of confirmation, and then ask for reboot.

Motorola Droid had predicted to be sold for more than a million. Many people said that Droid can be compared or even better than iPhone. It offer multitask and perform as fast as iPhone. However, Droid is not without problem. Some user has reported that some third party application can make the phone locked up or very slow. Some user even suggests the need of task killer. This is a typical Linux problem.

A cell phone is like a computer. A cell phone requires an operating system to operate. Operating system will provide the interface and functionality to user. Cell phone operating system once was proprietary to each vendor. Each cell phone vendor makes their own of operating system.

There are misconception among cellphone owner about what is safer. There are a couple of articles that suggest some way to avoid radiation. They mention about how expert have warn people about cellphone radiation. Notice that the solution usually do not came from the expert. Sometimes the suggestion can even be more risky than it original is.

TFT definitly brighter and more colorfull than CSTN, but TFT also draw more power and more expensive, for handphone this is bad. STN technology can actually compete with TFT, as long as the screen still black and white.

But as the current trend now is colorfull screen TFT now become one of the main choice because it deliver higher contrast than CSTN. STN technology is still widely used for mid to low range model. Cheaper price and lower power consumption will still make them a viable option, especially with recent technology improvement.
