ubuntu
Linux today is not as good as the old days. The core is getting slower. The most popular Linux, Ubuntu, is now become more unreliable. Previously I have successfully set up OpenBSD mail server. User can connect with mail client that support encrypction. User can login with Windows Active Directory password. User can change their password by using web mail interface. Although migrating the users need to be done with bach file, it is a rather fast installation. Everything that done according to OpenBSD limitation, feature and requirement will work. Something users would expect from an reliable operating system. After happy installation with OpenBSD I try to use Ubuntu as email server. I already have some experience with Ubuntu. I install several version of Ubuntu on user computer. Starting from version 5.10 through 8.10. From many problem faced by the user I found that version 6.06 provide the most problem free system. Everything work with only some minor glitch. Open Office fortunately can be upgraded to latest version without the need to upgrade the system. The only complain from users is slower performance from Microsoft product. |
